ORLANDO AREA NEWS - DISNEY ATTENDENCE INCREASED IN 2009

A newly released industry report shows that attendance at Walt Disney World’s four Central Florida theme parks grew in 2009. The theme park numbers compiled by Aecom and the Themed Entertainment Association estimate attendance at the Magic Kingdom at 17.2 million visitors in 2009.

The 1% increase from the prior year kept the Magic Kingdom at the No. 1 position among theme parks worldwide. Attendance at Epcot was estimated at 11 million, up 0.5% from a year ago; Animal Kingdom, 9.6 million which was also up 0.5% and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, 9.7 million, up 1% from a year ago.
