But short-term rentals are only allowed in condos and townhomes. If you’re interested in a single-family home, you’d be better off looking for a property in the neighboring cities of Kissimmee, Haines City or Davenport. These cities feature communities with single-family homes and luxury villas that can be rented out for a week at a time.Â
Condos and townhomes are a good option for real estate investors. These properties can be a little less expensive to purchase than a single-family dwelling. And condominiums usually include a property manager who can assist you in finding renters for your unit. This feature is especially attractive if you live outside of the United States. If you buy a single-family home in a community that doesn’t offer this service, you will be responsible for finding someone to handle advertising, finding and screening tenants, cleaning, handling contracts and deposits, as well as regular maintenance and repairs.  Â
You might also consider buying a vacation home in a resort community like Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa or Blue Heron Beach Resort. These communities offer a variety of amenities similar to what vacationers would find at a luxury hotel, such as Olympic-size swimming pools, mini-water park, tennis and basketball courts, playground and game room. Â Some resorts even have their own restaurant on-site and offer concierge service. These services make the resort very attractive to holiday guests.Â
