Orange County resort-tax collections totaled $11.6 million in January, a 9.7 percent decrease from the year-ago period. Resort taxes are charged on short-term rentals, mostly hotels and motels. Through the first four months of the current fiscal year, collections are 6.8% behind the year-ago period.
