Jimmy Buffet fans should feel right at home at the new Margaritaville Resort Orlando when it opens in late 2018. The developers have released the first renderings of the vacation cottages that will be available for purchase, and the vibe is definitely coastal and Caribbean.
The design of the cottages was inspired by Key West, Bahamas, Jamaica, coastal Carolina, the Florida Keys and towns along the Gulf Coast. According to Pat McBride, CEO of the company leading the design process,“…these homes are designed to reflect those diverse architectural styles and periods while capturing that unmistakable Margaritaville paradise.”
Vacation home buyers will be able to choose from one, two or three-story designs. The rendering that was made public suggested that the dominant colors for the cottages would be pink, yellow, aqua and white. Pricing for the vacation homes starts at $250,000.
The 300-acre Margaritaville Resort Orlando will feature 1,000 vacation homes, 300 timeshare units and a 187-room hotel when complete. Renters and home owners will have access to all of the resort amenities, which will include a dining and entertainment district, a 12-acre water park, retail space, fitness trails, a water taxi system, and a 3-acre freshwater lagoon-style pool for swimming.
Margaritaville released some impressive statistics about what it will take to create this new vacation resort in Central Florida. Here are a few of the more noteworthy facts:
- The resort will be only 1,000 feet to retail space
- The resort will take 3,425, 625 hours to build
- It will take 14 million gallons of water to fill the swimming pools
- There will be 1,300 palm trees on the property
- And 6,000 people can be accommodated in the residences and hotel rooms at one time.
